Two Days, One Love Story: Jess & Tommy's Elopement and Woodland Wedding

1st May 2025. The most beautiful weather we'd seen all year and it was the day Jess & Tommy would become husband and wife. This wasn't just any elopement though... Jess & Tommy had chosen us to be their witnesses. Had we met before? No. Had we talked and talked over Instagram, bonded over our bridal career experiences and laughed like we were already besties? Yes.

As we stood waiting, cameras in our hands and butterflies in our bellies, Jess & Tommy were in the carpark getting dressed. You read that correctly. These two are so nonchalant and effortlessly cool, they got dressed in the carpark before strolling over like supermodels and embracing us like old friends.

Tommy told us recently "One moment Jess & I always reminisce about is when we drove up to our elopment venue. The sun was beaming and we had 10 minutes to get ready before we needed to head in. Us trying to get changed and ready in the car listening to our favourite music was hilarious and felt so natural"

One thing about Jess & Tommy? They know how to dress.

"My suit and Tommy's outfit for the elopment was us in our comfort zone and paying homage to our love of antique jewellery. I never leave the house without my multiple rings and I knew on my wedding, that wouldn't change. My Prada shoes weren't planned actually! I was searching for a long time for some shoes I loved and of course, one of the most expensive pairs of shoes I saw were the ones I fell in love with! (shout out to my Mum for buying me those)"

As we all entered the doors to Oakwood House, there was definitely a bit of nervousness and anticipation in the air, but by the time we were all in the room, it was nothing but joy and love.

Jess & Tommy exchanged vows, we all laughed and smiled the entire way through, and we officially became their witnesses. An absolute priveledge and core memory.

We asked Jess & Tommy how it felt being just the four of us for their elopement:

"It felt intense, in the most delightful way. It felt warm and meaningful just being us four. As it was so small, there were no distractions, and the actual marriage part felt like the most important thing." They went on to add, "don't feel guilty for one moment. If having an elopement/intimate wedding is what feels right for you as a couple, then trust your gut and go for it, I promise you won't regret it.

We've always been the type of couple that just love being in our bubble and the idea of being on our own (with the exception of you gorgeous guys) sounded like bliss to us. It just felt 'right' and felt the most authentic, truest way for us to get married."

After such a beautiful couple of hours (and a VERY cool elopement photoshoot which you should totally stalk our Instagram for) we parted ways, but only for a day...

3rd May 2025. The Woodland Wedding.

We began the day at Delta Hotels Tudor Park Country Club. With family and friends in adjascent rooms, the atmosphere was already electric as they gathered on the shared patio for their first celebratory drinks of the weekend. As we photographed and filmed their morning, laughter filled the air and Jess transformed from cool chick, to elegant bride (but keeping her signature multiple rings, obviously!)

"I have worked in bridal for years, helping other brides find "the one" for their big day, so I have always had an idea for what I wanted to wear. Tommy and I are both so eclectic in our tastes of music, interests and fashion, so we wanted to be able to express this across our elopement and our wedding."

As we arrived to Longton Wood, we could see straight away that this was totally Jess & Tommy. The ceremony was tucked away in the woods, with an abundance of florals and natural sunlight. Soft whites and peach toned roses surrounded the benches, which took your eye to the focal point of their beautiful wedding arch. Covered in greenery and roses, it was the perfect backdrop to the ceremony.

Tommy and his groomsmen waited patiently for the arrival of Jess and her bridesmaids, the benches filled with eager friends and excited family. The tears had already begun and they hadn't even seen Jess' incredible Dad walk her down the aisle yet!

"We have the most beautiful people around us and couldn't imagine celebrating our wedding without them in some way. We have been together for 10 years and our friends and families have been a part of that journey with us too. The forest element was a no brainer for us as our favourite thing to do is go for a walk in the woods. It's our place where we debrief, plan life and relax. We also got engaged in a woodland near our home, so it was the easiest decision. Tommy calls me his little nature witch, and being surrounded by trees on our big day felt grounding. Longton Wood gave us the opportunity to make our wedding feel like "us" and the bluebells gave the perfect natural backdrop!"

The ceremony was beautiful. The sounds of birds, the gentle breeze and the quiet "ooh's" and "aah's" as Jess gracefully walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her Dad. They exchanged private vows (pros of doing the legal bit a couple of days before) and it was all very personal and emotional. Readings from loved ones and an epic confetti shower on the way back down!

The rest of the afternoon was spent deep in the woods, with guests relaxing on vintage sofas, having chats around the giant fire pit and reliving old memories whilst simultaneuously creating new ones. There was even a ping pong table in the forest. Formal photos were done, candids were captured, so we took Jess & Tommy off for a quiet moment just the two of them.

One thing we can safely say is that these two are absolutely in love. We didn't even have to direct them with posing, they were just always holding hands, sharing a kiss or embracing each other. It was an absolute joy to capture the still moments with photos, but as they also had their wedding filmed, they can relive the laughter and silly conversations we had in between.

"Tommy's tuxedo for the woodland wedding was something I felt super passionately about. I wanted him to feel as special as I would on our wedding day, as the mens outfit often gets overlooked. He combined class with a double-breasted tux and a Gucci bow tie. He also provided a special uniqueness with his gold antique Lapel chain. Men, don't be afraid to go extra and accessorise on your wedding day!

My dress, oh my dress (swoon) was just beautiful. One thing I made sure on when I was searching for 'the one' was to ignore peoples opinions on what they thought a "woodland wedding dress" should be. I trusted my gut and went with something I knew I would love in 30 years time and something I would never have the chance to wear again. Train was as long as I was tall!"

The evening was spent in the tipi, surrounded by fairylights and fun. Emotional and hilarious speeches, followed by an iconic first dance which had every single person up on the dance floor. Which song gets guests from every age and background onto the dance floor? Kendrick Lamar - They Not Like Us.

It was an absolute privelidge and honour to spend the weekend with these two gorgeous humans and their lovely family and friends. We will treasure the elopement and being your witnesses for the rest of our lives, as well as the memories we created and captured at your beautiful woodland wedding.

We asked Jess & Tommy to describe their wedding in 3 words.

"True. To. Us."
